North West turned 13 in the middle of a big year
North’s 13th birthday arrived during what has been one of the most active periods of her young career.
On May 1, 2026, she released her debut EP, N0rth4Evr. The project contains six tracks and marked a significant step from appearing alongside her father, Ye, to releasing music under her own name.
She had already appeared on music connected to her father, including “Talking”, but the EP represented a different stage: a project centered on North herself.
Her musical activity also moved beyond the studio.
In June, she performed solo at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash in Illinois. It was her first solo festival performance, coming after appearances alongside Molly Santana at Rolling Loud and alongside Ye at his SoFi Stadium concert.
North West’s music career is already moving quickly
At just 13, North has already experienced several milestones that normally take much longer for a new artist to reach.
Her 2026 timeline includes:
- May 1: releases N0rth4Evr.
- May 9: appears with Molly Santana at Rolling Loud in Orlando.
- June: performs solo at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash.
- June 15: turns 13.
- June: announces the Molly x North Kimokawaii Tour.
The planned tour was supposed to give North her first major run of shows alongside Molly Santana. However, several dates were later canceled shortly before the tour was scheduled to begin in August. People reported that no official explanation had been provided at the time.
That development is worth mentioning because it puts her current career in perspective: North is still at the beginning of her path as an artist, rather than someone with an established touring career.
North West’s first headlining concert
North West reached another major milestone in September 2026 when she headlined her first solo concert at The Vic Theatre in Chicago.
The show came after the cancellation of the planned Molly x North Kimokawaii Tour and marked an important step in North’s development as a live performer.
Both Kim Kardashian and Ye were in attendance as North performed material from her debut EP N0rth4evr. The concert showed that despite the canceled tour, North was continuing to build her own identity as an artist.
What kind of music does North West make?
North West’s music does not follow a traditional hip-hop formula. Her debut EP N0rth4evr mixes elements of rage rap, hyperpop, emo, alternative rock and metal.
That experimental approach separates her early work from the sound associated with her father Ye, while still showing the influence of the hip-hop environment in which she grew up.
Who are North West’s parents?
North is the first child of Kim Kardashian and Ye, two major figures in entertainment.
Kim Kardashian became internationally known through Keeping Up With the Kardashians and later built businesses across fashion, beauty and entertainment. Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is one of the most influential rappers and producers of his generation.
North has therefore grown up around music, fashion and television from an early age. Her appearances alongside both parents have been widely documented, but her recent projects show her beginning to establish a public identity of her own.
Her debut EP and festival appearances have made music one of the clearest areas of that development.
How old will North West be next year?
North West will turn 14 on June 15, 2027.
Until that date, she will remain 13. This is important when reading older articles about her because her age changed during 2026: reports published before June 15 correctly described her as 12, while coverage after her birthday refers to her as 13.
For anyone searching “How old is North West?”, the current answer is therefore straightforward: North West is 13 years old in October 2026.
Her age, however, is only part of the reason she is attracting attention. This year has also marked the beginning of a new chapter in which she is moving from being known primarily as Kim Kardashian and Ye’s daughter to developing her own presence in music.
At 13, that story is still just beginning.
