Rapper LUCKI was injured this Saturday, October 3, following a confrontation outside ComplexCon in Los Angeles, in an incident involving members of his team and people from Playboi Carti’s entourage.
What’s known about the altercation at ComplexCon
Images circulating on social media show LUCKI with visible blood on his face and neck as he was helped into a vehicle after the incident. The confrontation broke out between members of LUCKI’s team and people associated with Playboi Carti’s entourage outside the venue hosting the convention.
LUCKI breaks his silence on the injury
Hours after the incident, LUCKI himself confirmed he was stabbed during the confrontation and said he’s okay, settling what until then had only circulated through reports and videos on social media.
LAPD is investigating the case as attempted murder
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is investigating the altercation as an attempted murder. LUCKI suffered a neck laceration after being struck in the face by an unidentified suspect around 4:40 p.m. Saturday in the venue’s parking lot. Four victims were identified in total: three are in stable condition, and one transported themselves to a hospital. No arrests have been made so far, and the exact number of suspects involved remains unknown.
Playboi Carti’s role in the incident
Playboi Carti was present at ComplexCon, but it has not been established that he directly participated in the altercation. One video shows him watching the fight from his vehicle’s window, away from where the attack took place. Neither artist nor their representatives had publicly commented on the incident at the time of this publication.
The history between LUCKI and Playboi Carti
LUCKI and Playboi Carti exchanged words on social media back in 2024, after Carti interpreted a LUCKI post as a shot at him, something LUCKI denied at the time. That tension appeared to die down afterward, which makes this new episode an unexpected turn for part of the rap scene.
